In heating mode, your furnace's heat pump extracts heat from the outside air and transfers it inside your home to warm it. But what about during winter when the ambient temperature outside gets very cold (close to 0°C or below)? The very low temperature causes your furnace's heat exchanger to freezes which results to reduced airflow across it and if left unchecked, can cause extreme damage on your outside unit.
